The Wihan Quartet had standing ovations during a recent concert tour
in the USA, and we are delighted to welcome this outstanding Czech
quartet to open our 42nd Festival. They are playing
music by Haydn and Mozart, together with the “American Quartet” by
Dvorak, the most famous composer of their native country. This

concert, using many different sizes of instrument. Janet and Mark are
both experienced soloists and teachers in London, and as a husband and
wife team have performed together extensively, particularly for Music
in Hospitals for whom they have appeared on BBC radio. An excellent
tea will be served after the concert.
