Opening Concert
Saturday July 18th

 Emma Johnson – winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1984, now an internationally-renowned clarinet soloist who has sold over a quarter of a million discs worldwide.
 

Tuesday July 21st
 

The Farrington Ensemble – music for clarinet, violin, cello and piano.  A unique and flexible group that entertains, challenges and enlightens. An evening of variety.

Friday July 24th

 The Winner of the Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist Competition will perform.  Soloists from all over the world compete, and a recital here is one of the prizes.  The competition takes place in the Autumn, and we shall then be able to tell you who is coming to play for us.

Monday July 27th
 


4 Girls & 4 Harps
– one of the most unusual groups we have invited also promises to be one of the best.  This quartet of four award-winning harpists was formed in 2000, and presents an eclectic repertoire including solos by each of the four.

Weaving Myth and Music from South Asia

 

Internationally acclaimed storyteller Cassandra Wye joins forces with Dhyan

Singh on Tabla and Simon Kohli on Sarod to create a unique performance of South Asian stories set to the melodies and sounds of Indian classical music.

Friday July 31st
 

Bold as Brass is an ensemble of some of the country’s top brass musicians who specialise in providing fantastic music throughout Scotland.

Members of Bold as Brass have performed with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic, in venues from the Royal Albert Hall to the Sydney Opera House.
