The 2008 Art Exhibition was declared a great success by out-going organiser Sue Mabbutt (shown, opening the Exhibition, above). “We managed to exceed our 2007 sales in spite of the recession”, she explained. Over 600 art works by more than 160 artists were displayed to more than 1100 visitors over the course of the Exhibition and sales of art totaled more than £5,700.
I’ve just put together a page that I think looks OK. It remains to be seen whether the committee will approve of it. I’m open to all constructive criticism!
Now I’m going to construct a few specimen pages, so that people can see how it will all fit together. Once we’re up and running I will delete them.
The “News” posts can be used for press releases and other current announcements. They can be updated quickly. If the committee feels it’s appropriate we can also include little “chatty titbits” about preparations for the festival or committee members, or whatever takes our fancy!
The static pages will be used for things that don’t change rapidly eg. booking forms, a history of the festival, the program for the next year, photo galleries, etc.
