We’re Live!

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

I’ve just tested our web address and now we’re live!  From now on, people who search for the Church Stretton and South Shropshire Arts Festival will find our web address on Google and the new page will pop up.  This is exciting and scary – I need to make sure that everything works the way it should!

We had our AGM on Monday night.  It went by very quickly.  There will be some changes as various people change their responsibilities, but mainly we will have much the same committee as previously.  The two people who are dropping off the committee are Sue Mabbutt, who has done so much to build a strong and successful Art Exhibition and Simon Whaley who has had the difficult task of fund-raising.  Many thanks to both of them for their heroic efforts for the Arts Festival and many thanks to the rest of the committee for working so hard last year and commiting to work hard next year as well!

Trial Posts and Pages Deleted

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Well, I’ve deleted all the trial posts and pages.  I got some feedback from the committee, but not as much as I’d hoped.  Now I’m going ahead with the real pages.  Richard is sending me lots of copy about the musical items and I’m trying to post it as quickly as I can.  Watch out for changes every day as new information is added.

New Web Site is soon to go online

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Have just had a chat with Ron and Mike.  These are the experts who ran the old site and did a jolly good job of it.  I now have all the information I need to move the domain name over to this site and then the new Church Stretton Arts Festival Site will be up and running and “OFFICIAL”.  EEEEEK!

There’s lots of work to do before that happens.  First I have to “unpublish” the pages that were here for testing purposes, and then I have to clean up the pages that are part of the real site.  This process is starting now and will continue for the next few days.

Richard Walker is sending me material for the music pages.  There’s going to be lots of good material here – now we have to get the potential audience to visit, admire and be inspired to buy tickets!

Stay tuned!
